Middle School Sports

Overview

Mount Vernon Christian is a member of the Washington Interscholastic Athletics Association (WIAA) and our Middle School teams compete with the other District One schools in close proximity of MVC. The Middle School Sports program differs from High School Athletics. These differences include:

  • Weekly participation is limited to three to four days.
  • All students may participate regardless of their skill quality.
  • There is a no-cut policy under normal circumstances.
  • While playing time is not equal, attempts are made to provide experience for all players that have participated appropriately in practice and previous games.

Purpose

Participation in Middle School Sports allows students to develop physical skills, learn game strategies, and glorify God with our participation as well as our actions on and around the fields and courts in which we participate.

Being a member of a MVC Middle School Sports team allows a student the opportunity to see if this is an area of competitive interest and ability they would like to pursue and develop at the High School level.
